Not that into games, but saw a video about a year ago on youtube about dayz and had to have a shot.

Not the most powerful spec by any means of the word but....

Got it for 280 quid which is a bargain in my opinion, runs battlefield 4 perfectly. Just need to wait until pay day before I can get Arma 2 operation arrowhead then dayz here I come

Congrats. Sounds like a decent enough rig!

There's also a DayZ thing for Arma 3 in alpha on Steam - it costs money as well but may be worth looking into.

If it runs BF4 then you're laughing, 280 notes is less than I paid for my gfx card 2 years ago and I struggle occasionally with graphics now.

I think the ARMA3 port has been discontinued now hasn't it? Either way, there's two options available for you. Both are £20. DayZ Standalone, available through Steam and eventually the 'final' product but currently in Alpha. Then you've the DayZ mod, available by having ARMA2 (and CO) on your machine. Arguably the better product at the minute. Much more weaponry, more functionality and nicely enough there are also mods put off the back of this one such as Epoch, Origins and whatever else to add a little more to the game

How much would it cost for a PC to run day Z comfortably, the game looks awesome

The standalone aint that great just now, longest I have lasted is half a hour after at least 15 attempts.

I don't have much money just now but wish I bought arma 2 and got that version. Hey ho though it will be good to watch proper version develop

No just falling off stuff, or random leg breaks. Just finding food and drink to survive is tricky for a newbie

My DayZ SA experience has been similar. You start the game with very, very little and gear is horribly hard to come across. Ended up with a few weapons last night and made a stand in Electro against some really well geared players. Think they were a clan. Got 5 kills before being 'removed' from our stronghold. Good fun while it lasted though!
