As some of you know ive placed an order for a f type r and i was told i would be getting the car in april.
Well Jaguar have now told there dealers that there allocation will be 1 car a month which means because im 5th on the list i wont be getting my car till augustfurious
As you can imagine im not very happy, my dealer is going to try and see if he can do something but we'll see, if he cant im thinking of pulling out, dont know what to do now confused

Nothing else out there that looks or sounds as good. I'd recomend you wait.

What's the problem? My new Macan S won't be here until August (if I'm lucky!) more time to enjoy the build up.

Jag are obviously concentrating on the foreign market, shame would be nice for us to be prioritised.....but all good things....

It's annoying, but if you pull out you'll still want one, and then you'll be at the back of the queue smile

See if the dealer can either do something about the delivery date, or if not, perhaps they can throw in some free options or servicing or something?

I'd probably pull out then order it in six months time. The wait time will probably be vastly reduced by then and you may even be able to get some discount.

I guess it depends whether you are leasing or buying outright etc and how often you change?

Have managed to secure 3 more April build slots today so Tim's should now be May build.

Can't wait to see it. Looking forward to it more than any other order so far, but have to play fair with the "first come, first served" order process..... Was mortified with the initial 1 per month for the next 3 months allocation as a lot of hard work has gone into keeping interested parties on the boil so felt like a bit of a slap in the face too.

The car is stunning and will be well worth the wait. Sounds like Ashley has pulled out all the stops and managed to get you an early car. You'll be wearing a cheesy grin all summer!

My dealer has a large allocation, so you can have an F-Type Coupe for April if you wish.

Better still, save yourself a fortune and buy one secondhand with very few miles. Clearly they're not making premiums as they're overpriced when considering the packaging, weight, spec, etc. Personally I think the XK is still a better car. It has a much better boot and space behind the driver.

I just traded a 13 XKR for a 14 F-Type V8S. Chalk and cheese. The F-Type is a much more connected drive and a completely different experience. I've also driven both back to back on a track and the difference is stark. The XK is more practical but that's the only reason to choose one over an F-Type IMHO. The R Coupe will be an awesome beast.

But judging by the theme of the OP complaint starting the thread there is more demand than supply which indicates they are not over-priced.

Nor are there likely to be an abundance of Firesand R's kicking around any time soon....

The power of PH! Amazing that the dealer could so easily get the order pulled forward. Perhaps this is the way forward for all?!
