Hi guys,
best example I can give is that on Forza 5 I win lobby races on a regular basis, I'm top 100 on loads of the leaderboards and I'm a pretty good tuner (just don't ask about painting).

However, my favourite game is Battlefield 4 which I'm pretty rubbish at. I rarely get more kills than deaths and my kill/death ratio has only now crept up to 0.50! Lol

Anyone else feel the same about a game they're playing??

BF3. It can be ruinous for my KDR if I just run in guns blazing like some people do because my graphics card is so weak. I stick to camping and get a decent KDR (2.0+).

I've put 80+ hours into BF4 (ps4) and I'm still pretty crap at it (0.81 K/D).
I think I'm improving slowly but at the same time almost everyone else is aswell so I just feel like I'm going nowhere, I do still find it fun most of the time though.

I really need to play something else, got stacks of xb360/ps3 and 4 games to play

I'm exactly like this with the BF games. I know I'm generally st but really enjoy them. It's about the taking part, not winning, unless by some fluke I actually come top of the table then it's the winning that counts. I even enjoy Commander mode on the iPad.

You can't enjoy the Battlefield games while worrying about your K/D ratio, I hate the people who just camp to get a better ratio but ignore the objective completely.

80 hours? That's just getting started. I've put 650 hours into BF3 and I'm still getting low KDRs if I run in. hehe Theoretically, 80 hours could mean you only have had the game a month if you play 2-3 hours a night. (Not sure how long BF4 on the PS4 has been out though?)

Last night, I actually saw someone jump off a cargo container in slow motion, run to my right and then stab me in the neck from behind, that's how bad my card is.

I play TDM - the objective is just to kill as many enemies as possible. biggrin

Occasionally, I do play Metro and push forward.

People used to complain I was camping on Noshahr TDM but I've set up the clan [CAMP] and since then, nobody whinges when I kill them with a crossbow... or smoke grenade. biggrin

Any football game. I have some pretty poor games on COD but generally I finish in the top 1 or 2 spots, at least for my team. Overall though, I'm pretty good at Ghosts. So why then do I play Fifa and other football games like I'm on day release? I accept I'll get beat but it gets annoying when I spend the whole game just trying to create a chance to score let alone put it in the net.

I think we've had this discussion before - get on a team deathmatch game with a simple map, just run around trying to kill anything, learn the bottlenecks and hidey holes, don't worry about your KDR/dying a lot, focus on getting kills to unlock equipment, then work out which kit is best for the map (usually a 1x sight is useful on a small map compared to an iron sight with a foregrip). Can focus on completing assignments that are relevant to close quarter/TDM eg 100 kills as a medic.

I'm still playing BF3, unlocking dog tags now that I've completed all assignments.

I totally get this. If you play on Xbox one join in with a group of us and you'll enjoy it loads more.

We're starting to meet up a bit more often and there's good banter and sometimes really good team play. Most of the guys are pretty good but there's a good mix of abilities!

The above suggestion is good - join a squad, focus on playing as a squad with people you know. If you're on PC I can introduce you to some friendly types you can work with.

Maybe you're just getting on a bit, though? biggrin

It was one of the reasons I loved GT4. It was offline only, so once you could beat your friends at it, you were king. Since everything went online, I realised I'm not even mid pack. I haven't raced a single online race in GT5.

On the other hand, in GT4 I never gave the licence tests or challenges a second look, as soon as I beat them (even scraping a pass) I was onto the next one. This time around I'm replaying them again and again, not just to get Gold, but to beat those times on my buddies leaderboard.

I think WoW showed me that no matter how good you think you are, or how long you play, there's always someone out there who's got better gear, or better stats than you. It's more about how far you want to go yourself. Just getting to the point where you're no longer a noob was enough for me.

And while the twitch reflexes might slow with age, there's a lot to be said for experience!

For me it's about the fun in playing, not the winning. on Fm4 I was Ok in some lobbies, but utterly butt raped in PH club racing, but still had loads of fun. My Kd ratio in BF3/4 is crap, but I still enjoy it

Played TF2 last week for the first time in years. Was rubbish but absolutely loved it. My niche role (suicidal Pyro) still seemed to be open too. Haven't laughed manically whilst playing a game in a long time. That game really hasn't aged anywhere near as much as it should have.

I tend to find that find that while you are still learning the maps and stuck with the basic weapons, it can be a bit of a slog.

Suddenly though something clicks and you'll begin to second guess where the opponents will be coming from and you start to unlock some better kit which helps to get more kills and things just pick up from there. I've gone from about level 4-11 in the same amount of time as it took me to go from 1-4.

Just stick with it and it'll all make sense!!
