Shin Splints pain lessens as I run?
Discussion
All,
I am currently training for a half marathon which is in two weeks.
I am suffering from a peculiar issue - intermittant shin splints.
They are always worse at the start of a run and get better throughout the run - the after effects are negligible and this has happened for the last 4 weeks.
Yesterday was the same - 8 mile run - first two miles I could really feel it and then I was ok.
No issues this morning.
In terms of footwear - I had gait analysis performed and new trainers 6 months ago.
I am also road running.
Any advice as my pace is being affected by this.

Suffered from shin splint 'symptom' for over 10 years now. 3 visits to a doctor who couldn't care less then was pointed in the direction of a woman who works wonders.
I still see her regular but the warm up technique she gave me which works is similar to that above but find a step or something raised. Stand on the edge and drop down as far as you can go and hold a few seconds then go opposite onto toes and hold again.
Do this for 5 mins. It genuinely helps me. Then warm down also.
I'm no fitness fanatic either but play footy once a week.
