Following on from my recent thread, I bought a set of Bilstein suspension from a company via German eBay. Payment processed on 13th Feb. It's a good hundred quid cheaper than in the UK.

I've not heard much since, e-mailed today to ask for an ETA and they indicated delivery around the 31st March. No reason given for delay, although I do know some custom Eibach springs take a while to come through. Said I could wait or have refund.

Now, I'd happily wait as they can't go onto the car until the 21st March anyway (insurance renewal-mods) however the 31st March would come outside the Paypal 45 day dispute window.

Is this likely to be an issue and would a chargeback be supported from my CC if they didn't arrive then?

Ordinarily I'd just take the refund and buy them when they are back in stock but due to a lack of organisation I've paid a £17 foreign transaction fee on my CC which probably wouldn't be refunded, and if Paypal shift the Euro balance straight back as a refund I'd be in line for ANOTHER fee!

Company looks fairly reputable (AZE tuning), shocks are just under £600 so it's money I would rather not lose if I can help it!

Swallowing the extra fees to get a refund and repurchase them is less than potentially losing all £600 of the money.....even if that is remote as it's a reputable seller etc....

True. I'm thinking a refund would be straight through to CC? If it could be allowed to sit as a Paypal balance that would be better.

I think the refund would be in the same format as you made the payment.....so if you used your CC via Paypal then it would probably go back that way too.....
