Recent nut and bolt restoration by me. Circa 220 bhp, Type 9 removed and TVR T5 box fitted, rear disc conversion, brake bias fitted, roll hoops with removeable struts, blah, blah etc etc

Goes like stink all the way to over 150 (gets very light at the front though and corners as well as my old VX 2.0 L Westfield

Looks great.

Now you need some Dunlop Formula R tyres on it to really have some fun

looks very nice! I thought the reason the G33 was designed was so the RV8 would fit? have you had to make extensive chassis modifications? how much HP will the chassis handle?

The G33 is 80mm wider (I think)so as to fit the V8 more easily. The engines in G33`s are also slightly offset so as to enable the steering shaft to bypass the offside exhaust, this means that standard primaries are used which are not that free flowing.

There are only a handfull of G27 V8`s. The main chassis difference is the front nearside chassis top rail is kinked so as to clear the exhaust primary as the two cylinder banks are offset. It is a tight fit, in fact everything is a tight fit, the engine is on solid rubber mounts so it hardly moves and the tvr T5 box means that I have had to cut strategic holes in the tunnel to accomodate it.

The main disadvantage is that the drivers footwell is very tight as the starter motor intrudes into it(racing/karting boots required)

Yokohama Ao`s going on it soon but the Yoko A539`s on it at the mo are still a superb compromise between wet/dry grip and wear

Lovely motor and a good job done by the looks of it, The alloys are not to my taste but the rest looks great to me.
Mine looks rough in comparison but is great on the track and I don't get so nervous of putting it in the gravel.

Hi Samol

As ever it looks better in photos

I`ll be tracking mine next year after the final tweaks this winter. What spec`s yours and what have you learnt that I might benefit from?

Mine's a G27r let over from the race series, It's a 1.8 zetec with a few tweeks, great fun, the only advice I can give is don't crash...... but have fun.. A good set of tyres will get you round much quicker than and extra 20bhp!!!!!

Ah yes They are stick on. I got them from Europa Spares... www.europaspares.com You just get the back ground and the numbers/ letters you require and stick them yourself.
I was a bit shocked that they didn't want all the normal I.D. stuff!!! Hope this helps. (what do you have?)

well on my mini i've got a normal plate but it gets knocked off all the time so im going to get one for that but also i need one for the ginetta G21 because thats quite low to the ground aswell thats great if europa do that though because i can actually stick it on to my bonnet as a normal plastic plate wouldnt fit to the curve

Congrats on a lovely motor!

I've always liked Ginettas.
I take it you don't fit a hood over those roll hoops?

No roof, fiberglass seats so if it rains the only thing that gets wet is you!! I might measure up for a hard top though!!
