Lowlife keyed my car!

So, this morning I notice that my wing mirror has been bent backwards, and upon closer inspection someone has run a key all the way down the side.

Thankfully, the mirror is undamaged and the scratch isn't too deep - it should hopefully polish out.

What a . My heart sank when I saw it, but I'm so grateful that the damage isn't serious. I have no idea what prompted it, that's what gets me. I wouldn't have thought it was jealousy, it's only an Octavia vRS after all! No enemies, just seemingly a random act of tttery. I hope it's just a one off.

Anyone else want to share their stories?

I had a lowly Clio 1.2, albeit on new plates at the time. Only a week old and I returned to it after a day at the office to find a scratch - down to the metal in places - across 4 panels.

This was 10 years ago, but every time I hear a story where there's been pain involved, I imagine the victim is that savage, and that karma has found its way around.

Same thing has happened to my wife's car whilst parked in swindon last week. Luckily it's not down to primer or metal so hopefully can be sorted without new paint.

Sorry to hear this.i bet it hurts right now.just mindless usually by a nomark that would want to shoot you if you so much as sneezed near his ride.there must be some stories where folk have been in the right place right caught these aholes and leathered em.......

I had a passer-by snap a door mirror off one of my cars. The vandal hadn't realised I was on my drive washing my other car at the time!

Don't be too quick to remove the scratch. If it's not just a random occurrence the scum in question might decide to do it again if they see you care.

I can see two options;

OPTION 1: He stopped washing his car to deliver a swift roundhouse to the back of the guys head.

OPTION 2: He was so angry he started a thread about it on a motoring forum.

I've had the bonnet, roof, every near side panel and rear bumper keyed on a car I had. Also they took the rear wiper blade, bds!
Thankfully the insurance were good to deal with but initially I was gutted.

fking aholes. I started a new job and accidentally parked in a space I wasn't supposed to, obviously I didn't know as I was new there, but I came out to find my car keyed. They didn't have cameras but I'd love to have found out who did it, I really would've beaten them to a fking pulp.

Just out of interest, where was it parked?

I once knew someone who admitted that he would do precisely this if a car had parked on a pavement and not allowed enough space for his wheelchair to pass.

I'm not condoning the behaviour at all, and in my view the retaliation is far in excess of the original dismeanour, but could it be someone like this?
