Alloy wheel repair

Couple of my wheels are in need of some TLC, has anyone used any form of alloy wheel repair kits/had a go at doing minor refurb?
I know it will not be as effective and may look a bit bodge job close up but just wanted to repair them for a couple of months then once the weather gets better going to book them in for a professional refurb.

Don't know what car you have, but I'd source a spare wheel set for winter; depending on the car there are millions of one-size-down-from-fashionable wheels that nobody wants, then you can have a winter set for next winter and get your 'summers' done professionally whenever suits.

Get them professionally done now by someone like Excelwheels. Put a decent wheel sealant on them so they are nicely protected from the elements. Do it once and do it right.

Best bet for local repairs is hammerite smooth in the closest colour available. Use modeling paint brushes to carefully apply. Thoroughly clean the repair area with brake cleaner and if necessary remove burrs by gently 'chiselling' with a hammer and screwdriver. Full blown diy refurb can give good results but any spraying requires wheel removal and careful masking. I've done it a few times but the cost saving is not worth it on high value stuff imho.
