Refund of remaining tax disc.

I'm in the process of trading in my car which I only just taxed for 6 months from the 1st of February.

The DVLA Form which accompanies the returned tax disc states the following:

"To get a refund for each full calendar month left on the tax disc, you must post this filled-in form to us before the first day of the month you want the refund from"

In accordance with that quote, I presume that I'd be ok popping the form and the tax disc in the post box on Friday 28th February as it states the form must be posted before the first day of the month you want the refund from rather than must be received by the DVLA before the first day of the month I want the refund from?

I only ask because I'm trading the car in on Thursday 27th February all being well and I want a refund of the remaining car tax for March onwards.

I've done something similar, so you should be OK.

But who knows what the faceless DVLA might do. Get proof of posting and you should be fine.

Get proof of postage but I've done exactly the same before and it was fine
