Steering wheel play

Hi all

Noticing a bit of play in my steering rack. Not had the car on the road for a while but I don't think it was there before

It's not up and down (fixed that last year) but side to side.. Is this normal or is there something that needs tightening/ replacing?

Cars buggered, best you sell it quick... give ya 50quid for quick sale

alternatively check the bolts under the dash as if they come loose then side to side play would occur

I should have been clearer. Its as you turn the wheel. the whole rack moves a bit without the wheels moving atall. I understand there should be a tiny bit, but im sure this is more than usual

Haha, yeah..thats what a trip to Manchester and back yesterday does... its depressing to see it so dirty!
