Redbull may want to field the above car for the 2014 season. May prove more reliable than their current one. And fits in nicely with the marmite 2014 cars!

i love the fact it has "a mind-blowing 113ft/lbs of Torque" - that's even weedier than a (2013) F1 car.

Newey hasn't lost his touch. It'll be on the front row by Austin

It really doesn't matter how good Newey is (and he IS really good) if it has a donkey pushing it along. Shirley you can see that?

I suspect the aero figures for his car are fantastic...due to the rear end packaging. But can he scale that back to have good aero and not catch fire?

Wouldn't bet against him but will see :-)

Doesn't matter if the car is 100bhp down surely. People will just drive past on the straights.

I was kind of assuming that Renault would, eventually, fix the power unit :-)

Apparently, Renault have asked for an extension on the engine sign off, by 2-3 MONTHS!

If one other team makes a veto against the extension, it doesn't stand...

Not strictly correct. Todt & Bernie have six votes each, if they both agree, it doesnt matter what the other teams say.

I think this requires a unanimous vote. The Merc powered teams are unlikely to agree to it.

Would have been interesting if another manufacturer required this. Would a team like RB agree?

Reading the article again, I can't see that there is a basis for Renault to apply for an extension. It would make a mockery of the rules and undermine the basis for the whole move to the V6 turbo units.

If they really are starting on the back foot - then its going to be interesting to see how their double world champ reacts to running down the order and maybe not finishing races....
