Right turn-filtered traffic lights - never change!!

Hi

Got a question - ive encountered the same set of traffic lights now that never change in my favour.

Its just outside Hadlow/ Tonbridge in Kent

Its a right turn filter lane (Northbound High Street B2260) with filter traffic lights going into A227 Hadlow Road, Eastbound

2 times ive been in Tonbridge, lead car, even after several cycles, the lights never change for the filter right. In the end I just went (so did the irate locals behind me lol)

Is this a pressure pad not activating?

Dunno about that one, but there are two similar junctions I use where the individual filter only operates at peak times, other times the "ordinary" green means proceed but give way to oncoming traffic - it is odd, granted.

The funny thing is I saw the right turn light go a few cars ahead. When I got there though they had changed, and that right turn light never came back on!!
Was there about 2 or 3 mins before I just fked off

Can't see from your link, but is the right turn controlled by a separate red light from the straight ahead or can you move forward when the lights turns green which then activates the right turn green if it senses something has moved forward to turn right?

Unlikely to be pressure pads in roads anymore. Most lights use an inductive road loop (you can see the diagonal rectangle on the right hand lane). Maybe the loop is borked and someone needs to contact the Council?

It's a strange spread out crossroads and years since I've used it.

Google Streetview shows it to be a regular green light and not a straight ahead only arrow.

You can turn right on green without the filter being on, giving way to oncoming traffic. In fact the correct thing to do is to pull forward and take up your position for turning right when the round green light comes on and then turn right when it is safe to do so whether the right turn filter is on or not.
