Anyone know a definitive answer to my question (no guessing or surmising please!)
2005 Mercedes CLK Diesel being converted to 6.0 LS V8 petrol. Once done and the log book is sent off to DVLA to amnend the details, will it require and SVA test or VIC? Will the DVLA inform the relevant authorities etc or would it need the owner to contact them? Or nothing else needed?
I built a Peugeot 106 quite a few years back now with 4x4 Cosworth YB engine and running gear, which all I did was amnend the cc and engine no. on the log book and job done. But with emissions now relevant to road tax and changing from diesel to petrol etc. I wonder if its now a different matter?

If you change an engine these days then DVLA require an 'engineers report' - I think this can be quite basic ie: a garage saying 'yes, it now has engine xxx fitted in place of yyy'.
I don't know the exact details as I never got round to carrying out the conversion, but it's probably on the DVLA website.
