Dead Battery, closed bonnet!

Could you attache a jump lead from another car below the fuse box to open it at the point or is it too much?

Pretty sure there's a section in the Handbook about this for my 2002 model 996. Think you have to open the fuse box, take out a terminal cover marked with the bonnet symbol and then attach one jump lead there and the earth to the door pillar. This will let you open the bonnet and then access the battery for jump starting or whatever.

Have read it all too, it just doesnt specify battery back or jump leads. If jump leads are ok they are easier to get. Mine are in the front!

Does not matter what you use, but a battery CHARGER may or may not work, depending on the current draw of the release mech (may blow the charger's fuse if too high) although I would add that it's unlikely.
