The best interior pics thread has made me think.

Say you are going to swap out some seats and don't want to pay a fortune for Tuscan style ones and can't find any original in good condition which seats do you choose?

These are ones I have seen but what other options should I consider?

S2000?

Ones like this (whatever they are)?

The bottom ones are T350/Tamora seats.

I've never seen the T350 style seats in a Cerb, I like it a lot. Not sure how many are available and only ever seen a damaged set for sale.

The S2000 seats were in a heavily refurbed Cerb and look pretty good, not sure they recline though as that Cerb had the rear seats removed.

I'm not sure what else fits, is it not a very tight fit in the cabin meaning most aftermarket seats are too wide?

I would have thought MX-5 seats were worth a look, there are heaps on ebay with quite few in leather and several different designs. Otherwise you need to look at cars that go expensively wrong before the interior gets too much wear (Oops I think I just described Cerbs)

Not a fan of the comfort of Tuscan seats over the original cerb seats for long journeys not a patch IMHO!

The s2k seats look good but no idea of comfort.

But I like cerbera seats as it true to the cerbera wink ( I know late chims have them too)

But do you know where you can buy original Cerbera seats in good condition for sensible money?

I am looking for alternatives that look good and are not going to cost the earth.

Is a retrim of your current seats too expensive?

The car I am thinking about doesn't have current seats. What I am saying is that should you find yourself in a situation where you don't have any seats (or you are unhappy with the current seats) in a Cerbera what is a good approach?

It seems to me that TVR seats even in a poor condition command a premium and people re-trimming TVR seats charge a lot of money. For example, I have seen a set of tuscan style seats for £800 on ebay. Many TVR places are charging about £1,000 for a retrim per seat.

So to put in Tuscan style seats (and a retrim if not in good condition or wrong color) and you could be looking at nearly £3,000.

To put this into perspective I can buy S2000 seats in good condition for about £250 and a retrim of honda seats (which are larger than the TVR ones...more leather) seems to be around £400.

It just seems that when the word TVR is mentioned prices double.

You have to get a VERY low seat, i have Cobra race seats in mine, i have had original which are quite good, and Tuscan seats which look great, but in practice offer no support, and they get in the way of your elbow when turning left, and force you to drive one handed!
Lotus Elise seats are very low slung and could be good cheaper option.

I don't find a problem with the Tuscan seats in my Chimeara. Prev owner paid £500 for them in 2005, looks like they are worth more then the car itself now!

Think they sit lower than the original chim seats and are bolted in so no movement,, but I can adjust my pedals ( and the Mrs can't reach biggrin)

Ah - I think I have a solution:

Trimmed in leather (with vinyl backs) any colour and with logo embroidered, brand new £425+VAT a pair. These will probably do for now.

Best of all, the company that makes them is only about 7 miles from my house. I guess that means there won't be a delivery charge.

I wonder how much they charge to re-trim a TVR seat in their finest Scottish leather.
