Are there any regular club meets organised in the Yorkshire area ?

If not are there any brave souls who fancy a get together for an hour or two one Sunday afternoon , preferably somewhere where they sell hot drinks!

I dont mind travelling a bit if we can find a location central to interested parties.

If someone has already got this covered tell me where and when and I'll go buy some thermals......

hi mark as you know i'm from barnsley so not too far from you, my jago is on the road but in a sorry state, i want to do it up a bit but keep it as a fun runn about. At the moment i cant drive it because i'm overhauling the carb and fittint working headlights!

i would love to meet up with other owners, i also know where there is another jago about 5 mins from me but last time i spoke to him he had layed it up for winter but you never know might be able to persuade him to dust it off!!

Hi Boys - Logibear here
I am in S/E Northumberland and would like to come down too but obviously would prefer the location to be in north Yorks.. if that was poss..
I enjoyed meeting a couple of the boys at Gretna - see " Chin wag at Gretna".
Thank you

Whilst driving through Doncaster today (somebody has too) I was stopped by a fellow Jago owner who wondered if there was a regular Yorkshire meet to attend.

I explained I had recently suggested the same on this site and he is gonna ring me early in the new year to see if I have arranged anything , so its over to you guys now.

If we can have a further show of hands with your location I will try to come up with a suitable meeting point , somewhere (dare I say it) where the women can go shopping might not be a bad idea a retail park etc , personally I am keen to have a look at a few other Geeps for inspiration and have a good old chinwag too and it would be good to get the ball rolling before the summer.

And even if you have to drag along your tin box due to the weather/mot expired/still in bits etc , dont worry about it , my Honda proudly displays a JOC sticker on the windscreen!

hi i'm still interested dop me a line when you get something sorted. i'll be in my jago all been well, it's in a sorry state at the moment but still mot'd etc.
I'm in barnsley but can travel!

I've been in doncaster all last week and even maybe a few days next week working on a new shop in the town centre.

Is there a way of contacting the JOC with regards to getting a list of local members we could write to??

Hi Keith

Are you free this Saturday for an hour or so?

I have another club member out Gainsborough way who is keen on joining in with a regular Yorkshire meet

He intends to travel to Doncaster on Saturday to meet me and as you had also shown an interest he suggested we head your way , so if you can make it any suggestions on a suitable meeting point on the way to Barnsley ?

If this works out ok we can hopefully get a monthly thing going maybe travelling further North next time to give other members a chance to join us.

Once a location/time has been sorted I will post details here so if anyone else fancies coming along for a chat feel free to contact me - tonkamd@hotmail.com

i am free this weekend, would be good to meet other owners but i will warn you my jago is nothing to look at!! needs paint and work but it runs!!

Which way would you come from doncaster? let me know and we can arange a meet.

I would offer to drive over and meet you at your end but had an unfortunate break down last weekend so still not venturing too far!!

Thats great Keith so where do you suggest ? somewhere a little over half-way to you sounds best , that way you get a run out without worrying about having to push it too far back (only joking mate).

All we need is a Pub with a bit of car park space , well room for 3 Geeps......but its a start!

Cheers

I would like to go on a meet i live in cleveland near saltburn. How far up would you meet !! I cant travel miles in my jeep as it is now very impractical and a bitch to drive on the road. I should be back on the road for april if my plans go as planned. Has anyone got any ideas where we could meet up for pub`n`grub and maybe a little cruise, (not boyracer style cruise either) ??

The first informal meeting of 2005 is to be held this Saturday from 12.30 onwards at the Sun Inn which is on the junction of the A635/A638 at Scawsby just north of Doncaster.

I am meeting one of our members from Barnsley at the lay-by on the A635 Doncaster road just off junction 37 of the A1(M)at 12.00 and will be there for about 20 minutes before heading onto the Sun Inn.

The location of future meets will be varied wherever possible to enable members from further away to attend without travelling too far , so depending on the response received we will try out best to accomodate everyone but for know it looks like being me , Alan and Keith , so that will be a pint of shandy and 3 straws then.....!

Big thanks to mark for the work in organising the event!

Despite my lack of confidence in my Jago due to recent occurrences i can safely say my car performed very well there and back.

Mark - can you send me a link for the yahoo site please?
