Never got to see him live. Loved his duet with Al Di Meola.

Fantastic player, will be sadly missed. I was quite surprised to see that he was only 66 years old. I always thought of him as the 'elder statesman' of the Mclaughlin/Di Meola/De Lucia guitar trio because he looked much older than J-Mac!
At the same time, I can't believe it is seven years since Joe Zawinul died!

A considerable talent and a great Flamenco player. The bursts of rhythm and complexity of Flamenco makes players who can rise above others very visible and Paco de Lucia did just that. Manitas de Plata was another such, long gone now. Paco de Lucia was a particularly able player, indeed great player, and very versatile and reliable and was therefore much in demand to accompany and play with other guitarists. He will be missed by friends and family and a great, great, many ardent fans.
