Track day taster sessions

I thought it was great for a trial (or in my case "fix" of track time).
Last year I booked a taster at the Silverstone SS. Booked in advance, drove down, signed on and sat through the safety briefing. Go out, get in car, helmet on, wait at lights.
You got 30 minutes starting with "warm up laps" where a pace car leads the group round, gradually increasing to full pace, then it's up to you.
To me it seemed like a good amount of time. I'd previously been to Donington for a day and did 30 minute stints before giving the car a break for 15 to cool off each time.

You haven't said whereabouts you are, but there some cheap airfield days about. No, they're not a full track day of course, but they're a great intro to giving it some, with plenty of run off and less things to hit!
Most of the ones I've seen are Oxford / Bath area, but there are others further up the line.
