I'm selling my Z4 coupe to invest in a Chim (400/450).

This TVR has been on the market sometime now. For a face lift model it seems to be well priced, especially from a trade seller.

This forum seems to be very clued up around TVR's, wondered if anyone had been over to inspect this car??

I've not been to see it but for my two pen'orth, there's no mention of any service history, or power steering for that matter.

The rear lights are the later version as is the sloped rear number plate so I'm surprised to see them on a '97 R reg. There are 1998 cars for sale out there with the previous Fiesta based lights. It hasn't had a new back end has it?

Have a word with Phazed would be my advice for that sort of money.

I drove past that a few times when it was sitting out on the pavement and it never made me think wow without even knowing the price, I've never actually stopped and looked at it but it just seemed a bit dull colour wise.

The later rear end puzzled me too... may hold of on this one for the time being.

But it has got "electric rear windows" !

Typical general car sales type advert... incorrect details and no pictures of engine, chassis etc.

Doesn't however mean it's a bad car.

Turn up, look as if you know what you're doing and make an offer, doesn't look like "their kind of car", probably a trade in they might be glad to get rid of?

I peruse the classifieds every now and then, this one isn't a late one, granted, but it looks fantastic in the pictures and sounds like a good one. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Thats a very well sorted Chim, never been a fan of the wooden steering wheels mind. It seems that TVRs come onto the market far less this time of year, and if they do its at a cost due to summer on the way. I'm going to have to be prepared to put some more cash down for the right one...

It does make you laugh what some people write in their adverts. I'm waiting for 'Rare Convertible Chimaera'.

My 97 (delivered early 98) has the full facelift as did the 'sister' car to near identical specification.
Both cars were ordered on the same day by two business partners.
They were both swapped in to the original dealer as deposits on the first Tuscans within a couple of weeks of each other.
I drove both and then bought mine.

I think it more likely that 98 cars with older rear lights are the ones that have had replacements.
But that isn't to say that people didn't have the choice at the time of ordering late 97 to early 98.
