Hi folks, I am in the process of collecting parts for the next installment of Winnie's engine work. I have my preferred Oil and the usual Spark Plugs on order, next on my list relates to something ChimpOnGas said some time ago:

ChimpOnGas said:
Oh and stick one of these on too:

And I also have one of these clinging firmly to it:

Finally, ditch the Range Rover sump plug & leaky copper crush washer, & replace with one of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAVID-BROWN-TRACTOR-SUMP...

Its the belt & braces perfect oil change package.
  • The replacement round edged sump plug wont get caught on a sleeping policeman & unwind itself, and you'll never have to buy another leaky crushable copper sump plug washer again
  • The FilterMag is reusable so once you've bought it it'll last a lifetime
  • The V8 filter is a Cummins Fleetguard and uses fibreglass media technology, which is well proven in the punishing diesel commercial truck world to offer far superior filtration than a traditional paper filter element, and it's only really a few quid more
  • Penrite oils are absolutely first rate quality, and at this price you can have the best at average quality mineral oil prices

Best in class engine protection that needn't break the bank

yes

I have the Sump Plug but can't seem to find the Oil Filter, link does not work. Similar story with the Mag, any ideas on where I can source them?

Re the filter, email David Brown at: slicebrown@hotmail.co.uk

Re the FilterMag just be aware the red body model is almost twice the price but is four times as strong.

You really want the red body one, the black body model is rather feeble so may not catch or hold swarf against oil flow.

It's also well worth doing my super strong magnetic drain plug mod too:

Cheers, Dave.

Thanks both thumbup

Although none of those sites actually stock the correct Red Bodies RA365 FilterMag frown

I have now ordered it from www.summitracing.com, came to around £85 in total delivered, so I'm happy.

As for the magnetic sump plug Dave, I do not have the tools nor the know how to make something like that.......... if only somebody who did would accept some form of payment for making one whistle As I have the plug here for exchange.

I made a couple by cutting one of the recommeded magnets in half as I think they are a bit long- but what a job, they are very hard and easy to fracture, and the best bit is the swarf ignites, so what I thought was a 15 min job took a lot longer. Its easy enough to drill a recess in the plug to accept the magnet, and add a bit of JB weld to hold them in. If you want to buy the bits and post them to me I dont mind doing the drilling and glue FOC as a one off. I certainly could not make them on a commercial basis without them costing about £15, which is too much.

That's a very kind offer Mark, thanks thumbup

I'm not bothered about chopping the magnet in half to be honest, full length will do me smile

Not had the magnet delivered yet, in the meantime I will see if I know anyone with the skills.
