heater control
Discussion
1 : The heater control dial which controls the direction of the air to the vents, seems to have bust on my car it is just swivels around, is this an easy fix
2: My car has fitted a seperate control dial for the driver this only ever delivers cold air is this because of the above
3 : roof doesn't seem to leak as the floors are not wet etc. but the passanger side seat belt is wet, any idea
think thats it for now :-)

Cmr2 - sorry if you've already tried this, but have you pushed the heater knob in and then tried swivelling it?
The knob will 'freewheel' with no effect until you click it on by pushing it in...
The wet seatbelt sounds like it's caused either by you dribbling on your new toy, or you've got a leak. Like flintstone suggests, you ought to waterproof the hood if it hasn't been done for a while. The areas around the velcro sound like the most likely problem areas - are they all stuck down properly?

tried that its just free wheels. The previous owner said he thought it maybe the cable ???
The cable may have broken, or it may have come adrift from the alloy wheel. You will need to take the dash top off and have a look.
yep, sounds like the cable. Mine did the same for the heat control, whereas the directional control beneath was fine. New cable from TVR Gear was about £6. Dash top off, have fun
fibreglass in the skin for weeks. I didnt take the whole of the dash top off but loosened off the bolts on the drivers side and took it off completely on the passenger side. Then propped it up using a water bottle. Gave me enough room to access the top cable of the 2 (ie the heater rather than the directional one below) thread through the new cable, adjust, tighten it up, and fix at matrix end. sorted. cheap job but quite time consuming. spent a whole day just fixing that and the dodgy door solenoid (thanks for the advice on that ribol
) just before i went to le mans this year.cmr2payne said:Remembering back to mine when I had it (:sigh: why did I sell it)... it could be an ill fitting window seal - where the edge of the window (the bit you'd push when you shut the door) didn't sit tight against the rubber surround.

AFAIK - the answer was to bung some kind of tubing inside the existing tubing to pad it out a bit.
Anyway - hope that isn't too technical for you
but someone may be along soon who's better at English than what I is.Ah yes, just done that job myself. As said by Shnozz, unbolt the dash passenger side, losen drivers side bolt and lift dash clear. It was the screw that had fallen out of the bottom wheel. Pretty stupid bit of design, as the screw goes in from the bottom, the cable tends to turn it as you rotate the wheel, so sooner or later it falls out. And gets lost ....
My tip, glue the screw in (you cannot tighten it right down or the cable end will not swivel). The bible tells you where to find the dash bolts, and you are going to need a new screw unless you are extremely lucky and find the old one. I didn't.
