Quality stuff, if this happened there we be a sudden glut of pre-05 petrol cars hitting the market which will knock prices right down. As I have zero intention of ever visiting London again voluntarily then this would be great for me!

Central London is one of the few places you don't need to use a car, so it makes perfect sense to hit those hardest to allow time for buses and trucks to catch up. Not least because forcing the issue forwards with buses and trucks pushes prices up.

Says who, and on whose authority? Why not ban domestic cookers in London to avoid house fires - that being fine because there are plenty of restaurants?

It's a poorly-conceived, poorly-considered plan which fails to address the supposed real problem. Just more unwelcome interference and restriction.

The main issue here is that you force people who live in the zone and drive these vehciles talked about being banned to change their car in order to comply. What about taxi drivers etc?
This has the potential to price people off the roads.

Mind you, it does mean that plenty of people would have to replace the diesel with a petrol car. So not all bad

My Brother in law lives in central London and he gave up his car years ago. He simply has no need for it.

It's Friday and I'm having a laugh. I happen to have bought a car which is slightly too old to attract the higher level of VED and slightly too young to get banned by the commies. Whilst the diesels get taken out and shot. Result.
