Anyone turned up to find the wrong car or similar?
A few years ago I ordered a Pug 407 on long term hire.
Had a call to ask if I could take delivery on a Saturday, and maybe drive the driver to the station. He decided to use the delivery truck in the end and drove from Surrey to Yorkshire.
His face when I suggested that he not unload the Pug 307 was a picture.
Turned out a mistake had been made by admin, who had not realised they had a 307 due as well as my car (which was a relief as for a while they thought they had bought the wrong car). The 407 turned up a week later with a case of wine so not all bad.....

It happened to my parents somewhere in the process the car that got ordered from the factory wasn't the car my parents speced with the sales man. The trade in value was honoured, good of them as my parents where off to the south of france adding a couple of thousand extra miles, extended free servicing and a few other things were handed out
Never had any personally, but i recall a couple from when i sold Rovers, some 25 years ago.
Guy ordered a red metro, grey trim, car turned up as red with cream trim (including cream dash and carpets). The sales manager thought about the risk of asking the customer did they still want the car (which they would have been perfectly in the rights not to), and rang and asked "Hi Jim, good news your car is here earlier than we'd talked about although its come through as red with cream trim. When suits for the handover - this friday so you have it for the weekend, or monday?"
Basically giving the customer options that both led to them taking the car.
