If anyone saw fifth gear this week they had a feature on the bertone modded rapide. I can't find a link to the show but did find an auto car review. It's probably been talked about before but the only piston head mention is under general gassing.

My view.. For a million quid.. Buy any regular aston, a range rover and a place in the country to drive them both to.

Aston did this as well as a Jet 2, a couple of CC100's, a Zagato DB9 coupe and a Zagato DB9 volante last year
ALL sold to "special" customers
I suspect that is where they are making most their margins wink

Mikey, I can see why Aston would make good margin on the CC100's that were built but surely they would only have provided the donor cars to Bertone and Zagato who would have done the conversion works and therefore the margin/profit on the jobs? That was my understanding from when we visited the Zagato factory last year.

Jet 2 + 2 looks lovely, why didn't Aston make the Rapide like that in the first place? If Bertone completed it in three months there is no way that it is worth several million pounds.

If I was AM I wouldn't let a styling house make the majority of the margin
But I doubt we will ever know wink
