I have an RS with a dead battery and the car has an extended warranty. A friend said that if I replaced the battery with a non Porsche item (even if the same spec) it would invalidate my warranty.

I have not read all the small print of the warranty yet so does anyone have a view on this? Seems a little unreasonable to me if it does invalidate if the battery is identical output and actually made by the same company who make them for Porsche!!

Thanks

That's right. Everything has to be totally as standard.

I had my car at an OPC today and was informed that even Paintshield will invalidate the warranty! Not sure how plastic on a bumper affects the electricals for example, but that's the way it is.

I was quoted £200 for a battery supply only or £260 inc fitting
