Has anyone out there replaced their bonnet badge? I noticed that mine had some minor chips and a tiny bit of... rust (shock horror). Anyway, in excess of £200 from a main dealer and not worth doing there... But, I have managed to source a new original part though the backing on that is not very sticky (I wonder if it's old... I didn't buy it from a main dealer). My question therefore is, how are they stuck on? Is is glue or adhesive tape?

It will make a big difference when I go to take it off/replace it. I appreciate that if it's sticky tape, it's a job of heating with a hairdryer and then using floss or fishing line to 'cut it off' from underneath. If it's glue, it may be quite a lot harder and I wouldn't want to hurt my P&J!

Forewarned is forearmed and if anyone knows, or has done the job, then please let me know. Thanks.

The badges are attached with 3M double-sided tape only.

I thought about buying one or two off eBay for a little project but had second thoughts and decided not to. I wouldn't like to create a market for them.

I promise that this was a new item.... but know what you mean about generating a market. Now I feel guilty; at least until I get my replacement on... then I am going to feel happy again. Thanks, as always for the advice to all of you!

In the meantime I am gonna have to fight for my right to paaaarrrrrrrttttttyyyyyyy! drink

My bonnet badge was also attached with double sided tape, but the bonnet also has 2 holes for pins.

I wonder if at some time, the badge was retained with spire clips under the bonnet? Would stop them being easily stolen, but could result in bonnet damage in the attempt.

This is an old thread. But I was hoping someone knows how to remove the factory wing badges front and rear. I have seen videos on YouTube to remove badges. But the Aston wings are set into the wing shaped depression. Everything I’ve seen in videos the badges are on the flat surface which appears much easier. Was hoping someone on here might know or have done it. I appreciate any information.

Get some fishing wire and a heat gun (maybe a good heair dryer).

Use the heat gun to warm up the adhesive and then use the fishing wire to cut it between the car and badge.

Like others have said, its only held on with double sided sticky tape.

You can also use teeth flossing chord. Worked on mine & hairdryer was okay too.
