Cerb broke down yesterday and have been trailered home.

The car opens ok, however there is no power to the starter button. In addition the boot won't open. I managed to get into the boot at the roadside and have checked the black ignition control box, but the connector seems in order - I have unplugged it and plugged it in again.

The immobiliser isn't connected so I cant be that. I haven't touched the silver key either!

Any suggestions what to try next? The car had been standing in the rain for the last two months or so unused, but kept on a trickle charger and it started and stopped fine three or four times before the breakdown.

Help!

Simon.

Update - having been trailered back yesterday and left standing on the road outside my house all night, I went to go and have another look. and the rotten so-and-so started straight away!!

At least I've got it on my driveway now. It must be a bad connection somewhere....

Could be wiring to the rear of silver key come loose, that would give same symptoms.

I'll have a good look round and see if anything obvious is loose. Its raining at the moment (for a change!) so will do later.

Many thanks for your help....

I had this on mine, happened a few times, was driving me mad. Finally tracked down to a fuse, very similar to the big fuse, that is located behind the carpet in the passenger footwell (about 6 inches up from the floor) that was loose. Just find a thick red cable and follow it.
