Hello all, As of yesterday I purchased my first Aston. Its a DB7 i6. I was looking to get a V8V. But this one came up at a very good price. So I decided to go for it. It is still an Aston Martin after all. I will be tiding it up. I will post some pictures up.

Great looking car and I love the colour. Not sure you need to tie it up though, it won't escape

Beautiful. A real pleasure to see these on the road. What are i6 annual running costs like for around 4k annual mileage? As an initial purchase if prices hold it's a realistic prospect for me in a couple of years or so, and I can afford to drop £2-3k a year for servicing/niggles and the odd large bill. I don't wish to sidetrack this thread but would love to know. Cheers!

Very nice indeed, love how clear the "hips" are on the DB7's smile

Thanks. I am not sure of the name of the colour. It has a hint of blue. I have to find out.

Thanks guy for all you nice comments. It needs a few bits. I will be getting it brought to Scotland next weekend. To get a few jobs done. Then I will be driving it over to Southern Ireland. I can't wait.

A hint of blue you say? Could it be Solent silver?

Sparks E39... Running costs on my 2000 DB7 Vantage are around £1200 for around 3000 miles per annum, suspect it may be a bit less for an i6. Find a good Indie and you may get it lower, especially if you buy a service pack from Chiltern Aston and the oil yourself and leave them in the boot for your Indie to fit. If you look for one with higher miles on it, make sure it's had a coil pack change at around 45000 miles. Underbody sealing is something Aston scrimped on, so a good coating of Waxoyl/Dinitron is essential. Be under no illusion, these cars demand a certain level of upkeep, servicing down to a budget will come back to haunt you, having said that, once you've got one just so, it'll be a keeper. Had mine six 'n half years and no desire to change it.

Gorgeous purchase, I came so close to buying one similar a few years back in black, I just love those wheels on the 7.

Thanks DB7 Pilot. i6 vs V12 costs seem to be pretty different from what I can tell. It's just a thought as an alternative to what I'm thinking next.
