Just wondering if anyone can think of any suggestions for my younger brother who's 19 , he wants a warm hatch around the 5k mark so far we have came up with

Twingo 133 cup
Swift port
Lupo GTI
Fiesta Zetec-S
KA sport

Could go old school and have a 90's RS Turbo, Golf GTI, Clio Williams, R5GT Turbo etc etc.

A nice one could be had for that money I am sure and might be more friendly on the insurance than a modern warm hatch.

Citroen C2 1.6 VTS. My 21 yr old brother is running this as his first car. Paying £900 for insurance I think.

125hp, 0-60 in 8s and nice noise for what it is.
