New 911 driver

I have just ordered my first 911 C2S (agate grey) to be delivered in May. It has been my dream since a boy to own and drive a 911 and intend to enjoy every minute driving it keep it immaculate.

Please can you guys give me some tips and advice on car cleaning and products that suit this car and colour best and in fact anything else??

Good on ya, I remember getting my 1st Porsche after a few years dreaming and looking at the classifieds, detailing world is the place to get cleaning advice and tips, make sure to put some pics up when the car arrives.

You need to make sure your OPC doesn't clean the car before you pick it up, and don't buy any "kit" that they try and flog you.

Find a decent detailer near the OPC and get it booked in for a 'new car detail' and take it from there...

My 997 C4S was Agate grey - there is a Dodo Juice wax (Blue Velvet) that is designed for dark metallics which brings out the colours of Agate grey really well.

As always this is a forum and you will get 30 types of products.

Most of the time though it is down to prep not the finish you use.

No I did go and see the chaps there who were excellent but I have bought from Mid Sussex - it was just they way it worked out!

I am having car delivered to my home as I live several hours for Sussex!

Drive it, don't detail it!!! It'll be filthy anyway within a handful of miles. And if you spend money / time getting it bling, then you may become one of those people that 'not taking it out today in case it rains' . . .

Drive it, yes, but getting a proper detail (and advice on washing) from new will mean it looks soooo much better AND it almost cleans itself in the rain (as dirt doesn't adhere so easily) and it's easy to maintain that look.

I love driving mine in the rain.

You should reconsider - a nice long drive as part of the run-in process will be highly enjoyable!
