In a similar situation with an S2 I picked up some time ago. To sell is a bargain you might as well have your self. Great cars, just in an awkward place value wise just now. Sometime soon, the rest of the world will wake up and see what they're missing.

Its a what does it need and how can I get it done question that only you can answer.
If I had the time and money space and knowledge I would try and save them all!

The thing is if they go up in value to much the likes of us (Me) won't be able to afford one, the chap that did my MOT is in to E Type Jags and I was saying about the euro trips, they did the same thing over 20 years ago but now they are so expensive only the rich can afford them and it's not the same as it was then, just a thought.

If you've made your mind up that you don't have the time to do it that narrows your choices a bit!

Pay someone or sell "as is" ?

Big decision time but without knowing your financial position or why your "free time" is so limited no one here can really make that decision for you.

Good luck, hope you make the right choice smile

I was in the same boat decided it was worth peanuts 'as is' and I would never afford another one so decided to get it back on the road I have very little time but decided it takes as long as it takes it will probably never be mint but it should be back on the road this year

If its just the outriggers plus a little bit of central box then the chassis can be sorted relatively cost effectively with a partial body lift. There is no need to complete a full body off which will cost £££££. The spring should be an easy fix too. As for peeling lacquer, there is no need to fix it immediately. Mine suffers from it and probably will be for a while until other more important jobs are complete. Its something that can wait until the right time comes round.

Once you have it back on the road then it will make your mind up for you wink You'll either be grinning from ear to ear or feel the urge to move on. It'll be far easier to shift with 12 months MOT with repaired outriggers. You could then paint and protect the rest when you have some time to spare so that it looks the part too.

If you do end up selling would you miss it or what could you get that would come close to replacing it? If really unsure, could you just sit on it for a bit longer. Make sure its tucked up somewhere warm and dry and it should happily wait for you. Pop it in a Carcoon or Airchamber and it shouldn't degrade much at all. Then you can pull it out and work on it as and when you have time and enthusiasm.
