Where to get my nose repainted

I went to put my 3/4 size number plate on the front of my Cayman R today and unfortunately someone before me has drilled holes through the backing plate and through the bumper at points wider than my 3/4 sized plate.

I am based in Hertfordshire and would like a recommendation for someone who will take off the front PU, fill all the holes and repaint (in white) to a really high standard. I would have thought that as it is just a single panel it would be possible to properly bake the paint which should give a better finish.

Any suggestions please?

Hi mine just came back from shorades Bodyshop in cannock .. Porsche approved and boy what a job

Treated her like a Beauty queen .. Full valet the works . Perfect colour match ..

Painted bonnet due to massive stone chip down to metal

I'm sure they said front bumper spray on 997 turbo is around £500.. So not cheap

Auto Audio in Park Royal or SL Restoration in Crawley. Both can bake it properly.

Thank you Steve. I spoke to Keiran at Harpenden Classic & Performance and the car is booked in for three weeks time. He sounds like the guy I was looking for. Local as well.

Perhaps a bit late to the party but Premier Body shops in Luton have been looking after my cars for years and have done a great job each and every time.

Excellent. He is very good, hence the wait. Fellow 993er in Harpenden recommended him and I used him on my BMW. Great work. He also has a demon paintless repairer - maybe worth a shout if you have anything needing done. I could not believe how they took out two nasty dents on mine.

Picked up the Cayman R on Wednesday and I am delighted with the work that Kieran has done at Harpenden Classic & Performance. Really nice guy to deal with as well. Kieran has given me the name of his paintless dent man who is looking at my 968CS on Monday - I have a small imperfection on a front wing.

Are any of the above bodyshops above Porsche approved ? You lose your warranty if not .

Mine is in at BodyTechnics of Slough (seems a top place) and when i asked that question, the assessor said that Porsche Cars GB recently withdrawn accreditation from all body shops.

I don't mean to sound unhelpful, but surely it's not worth it? Why not just get a smarter new plate on your current bumper. Even with the best body shop there's a risk the paint won't be quite right and wouldn't that disappointment be far worse than just having a normal number plate? Save the £300 for a respray in a few years or spend it on petrol :-)

I'd suggest fitting the correct legal size number plate, and avoid the risk of 3 points on your licence.

Unnecessary paintwork on the front of your car could raise questions from future buyers, but if you insist on getting it done, take it to a Porsche approved bodyshop to keep your paintwork warranty valid.

Op hasn't said his plate is illegal....just smaller.

Legal font with legal spacing could for short registrations mean a much smaller yet legal plate.
