997 One Touch Window Doesn't Work

The drivers side one touch hasn't worked for ages, and yes I did try reinitialising it. It was worse when the car was left sitting in the sun strangely enough. You would press it up and it would go 2/3 of the way up then come back down a bit. You'd press it again and hold it, it would then go back up to the same point and stop. Finally you'd press it and hold it again and it would close.

So a few months ago I took it in to the dealer and they changed the motor under warranty and that made it better where it would go up about 70% of the time with a single press instead of the usual 3.

The dealer then ordered in a new door lock and when they fitted that today the window failed to go up with the one touch at all.

They have been reading about the problem in the database and apparently the next step is to replace the glass as there is a new version of the glass. So this is being freighted in overnight and will hopefully be in one piece tomorrow.

Has anybody else had a similar issue?

Sounds like it's detecting too much resistance when it gets to the 2/3rds position and stops. It's a safety feature. Have you tried 'assisting' it at that point in case it continues to the top via the one-touch? If so, a quick clean and a dab of silicon spray in the rubber channels will free it up.

I got the car back yesterday after a delay in getting it looked at again. The dealer followed Porsche's instruction and changed the glass, early indications are that it is working.

If I can get the TSB number, I will post it on here for future reference.

The TSB number is WM644055.

The new revised window glasses for the coupe across the full 997 range are 997.542.911.00 LH and 997.542.912.00 RH.

Mine has been the same for nearly a year. Dealer wants to replace motor at £700!!!!
Is your car covered by extended warranty? Were you charged for the new glass, if so how much please.

Mine was all covered by extended warranty.

First they changed the motor and it then worked about 60% of the time. They then changed the door lock and it failed to work at all. Finally they changed the glass and now it works 90% of the time.

So armed with the TSB provided above, many thanks, my OPC now suggest replacing the door glass. Cost £350 less a possible goodwill contribution from Porsche.
