Homemade beef jerky?

My son has developed a taste for jerky and it's going to ruin me @ £2.50 a pack from laverstoke!

So, I'm tempted to have a go at making my own and need some help/tips.

Has anyone attempted this before?

(Or at worst case, any good sources for buying in bulk?!)

I need another go at this, I ordered a dehydrator from Amazon the other day on offer so gonna give that a go
