Hi guys long story short here; I am 25 I have a new job with a decent petrol allowance and my diesel CLS is way too boring for me!

I am happy with my trade in price etc and the car comes with full BMW service history and a 2 year warranty.

Anything else I need to look for?

here is the link

the only warranty really worth getting is the BMW one, and for 0 excess and emergency service, expect to pay 150/mth.

edit:

BMW warranty site says:
Vehicle Registration NumberOO07KWP
ModelBMW M6 CONVERTIBLE S85 5.0
VIN (Chassis)WBSEK92080B392238
First Registration Date02/05/2007

Ad says 2009...

Contracter thanks for your input! Is it possible the plate was registered to another M6? That private plate is not included with this car. Can I ask the link to find out the above? Cheers!

I would just issue a slight word of caution that no matter how much homework you do and how much you think 'oh it's not that much more expensive to run than any other car', it is, and then some.

I average 9.5mpg because I enjoy every drive I make in it. I also ensure you, you will want a watertight warranty. Oh and they also drink oil for fun and get through rear tyres in an impossibly quick time smile

If you can stomach all those things, then enjoy your purchase. I thought I was young getting mine at 26 wink

If it's not an AUC or Mondial warranty then I wouldn't bother. You are paying top top money so should expect top top service in exchange.

That is top top money for a previous gen M6 especially if it comes without an AUC warranty (don't even think about running one without it). You can pick up one a couple of years older with 60k on the clock for just over half of that so ensure you budget for heavy depreciation. Alternatively you can pick up a AUC for the same price.

Lovely cars but don't fall in love with the first couple you see.

I'm sure you can get an AUC for that price, considering your budget that's what you should really get.

...with the slight problem being there don't actually appear to be any AUC E64 M6 convertibles at the present time.

Buy AUC. If it turns sour you can send it back. Can't do that so easily with other dealers.

Read the buyers guide for the M5 its 99% the same as the M6.

looks like the plate has been moved so take the warranty quote with a pinch of salt, your best bet is to get the vin from the winsdcreen or drivers side suspension mount under the bonnet

Thanks for all the info guys. Is Mondial a fairly easy sign up process etc? You have been very helpful so far.

Yes. They didn't really ask for any information and didn't require any checks. Just the provision that you can't claim within the first 30 days.

Also be aware that over 60k mileage the price of the warranty doubles.

The car needs to have Full BMW main dealer history from new to qualify.

Just renewed mine it was £102 a month which includes breakdown cover. My M5 has covered 53,000 miles.

Simon.

This info is worthy of a repost so here goes.

Reg goes into www.bmw-warranty.co.uk , this will invariably provide the VIN if you do not have it.
If its an AUC can also usually get the VIN by hovering over the "View Brochure" link and looking at the URL

Use the BMW UK ETK to get the options.

1. https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/tetis/index.jsp?DOM...
2. id=eu111111 pass=bmwetk1
3. On the page that opens (titled ASAP), click the word Start
4. Enter the last 7 digits of the VIN on the next page (titled WebETK BasisFrame) and press >>
5. The next page is the Parts Search (vehicle Parts) page. You'll see the vehicle info in grey, At the very top there are some grey boxes, the middle one is "Options". Press this and a new window will open with the vehicle's option list. Press + next to "Vehicle Information" for additional info.
