Hi all,

With my new (to me) Tamora, came with 3 extra gauges (battery charge, water temp/oil pressure, & oil temp), all fitted where the radio would originally have been:

Quite keen to keep at least 2 of these (& lose the battery charge) as the dashboard ECU has been sent for repair 3-4 times in the past, but I'd also like to put a new CD system in.
Has any of you fitted such extra gauges on your cars, and if so, where?... without spoiling the lines of the dashboard?

Thanks,
Sabatier smile

Sorry, I don't like those gauges at all, replace with a decent stereo asap, out of interest why do you want to retain the 2 gauges?

Not for me either - like the 1970's!

I kind of get where you are coming from with having reliable gauges as a back up if you like but I would also prefer a stereo where the stereo should be.

Each to their own though!

Thanks!
Like you, I don't like the look of these at all much but as the ECU seems to fail on quite a regular basis, they are good for back up.
The idea is to get a radio/CD back where it belongs as soon as poss.
So I'm really after a less prominent place to keep the 2 temp gauges...
Cheers

Not really any good places for that sort of thing on TVRs.

Not ideal, but you can get dials to mount on the drivers pillor.

Better alternative might be to pipe the output through the mirror with an appropriate LCD display mirror
or small display below the mirror.

Could also put an LCD display in the sun visor and use that as emergency.

If you really must have the extra gauges you could keep things within the TVR family and put them below the steering wheel centre, Cerbera style!

Maybe under your radio, canted towards the driver (this is in a T350)?

The analogues don't look as though they belong in the 'T' cars - they need to be digital if you must have them, I think.

Can't the ECU be swapped or be properly looked at to cure the on-going problems?

I'm going to pipe the info from the ECU out onto my SatNav analog display.

Project for late this year going into next year.

Dad used to bring Ford development cars home for the weekend - they looked like this. Get rid. I'm sure someone here can point you in the direction of someone who can fix/exchange the ECU. Prioritise that over fitting an expensive stereo if necessary.

All good suggestions & certainly give me few options to think of, thank you!
No sun visor in my Tamora, something else I should think of before the Summer starts biggrin

Haha, oh so you Alex must be The Unholy One, Demon of the Purists, Keeper of the Mystic Grimoire of Improveramentus?
So before I start posting pictures like these on the TVR 'Classic' forum, I first need you there for a couple of weeks bashing around in order to pave the way for me? evil
