I know you can't answer this question, it just amuses me.

The odd woof, growling, nose and paws twitching. He even has his eyes 1/2 open sometimes, rapidly going from side to side before waking up and looking quite surprised.

If mine has been doing a lot of chasing. He does little runs in his sleep. Sure he's mulling over the balls he didn't catch or missed hehe

Chester dreams about food. You can tell because he's always upside down with drool running down his snout! Phoebe dreams about chasing her ball most of the time, but sometimes, I think she dreams about being a big tough dog and beating up the bullies as she growls and snarls, bares her teeth and generally acts really aggressively. First time she did it I was quite shocked as you will never hear her growl when she's awake!

Or, they could be dreaming about electric sheep and doggy porn...

One of our old dogs used to dream about chasing rabbits. She'd start with a little twitch of a paw, then her lips would start quivering, then the other paws would start flapping. She once got so excited she woofed and woke herself up.

My German Shepherd used to start running in her sleep, lying on her side, paws flailing she used to fall off the sofa. My first Springer, an ex working dog only ever woofed in her sleep, never when awake. Terrier used to growl and wag, with feet going quite a lot. Current Working Cocker grumbles away, occasionally whimpers and has barked himself awake.

Good call, but would you dream abaout a stick if you could dream about a rabbit?

I'd dream about a stick rabbit, or a rabbit stick. Either way, there would be a stick involved.

If my cats are anything like me (pets often resemble their owners) they're dreaming about doing the Bad Thing with the receptionist at my office.

For hours. And hours.

Ha, our little terrier seems to run a diagnostics check sometimes when asleep. We've watched her roll onto her back then, one after another, each paw twitches; sometimes so does her tail.

Stays on her back for a couple more minutes then rolls back onto her side, all whilst apparently asleep.

But yes, if she dreams, it probably involves rabbit, squirrel, or deer chasing.

posties, dustman, ramblers, horse riders & cyclists provided they are outside the fence, hates them all with a passion, never managed to work out why as he is as daft as a brush once anyone actually comes onto our property

welsh springer just turned 17, has had a stroke, completely deaf and almost blind, still going strong

That is a good age for a springer. Any pictures on the dog photos thread?

I love to watch mine twitch usually nose, front legs, back legs and at no particular time of day.Probably dreams of all the nice scents from other dogs she picks out on her walks.

Thank you. Lovely photos.
I rather like the colour of the Welsh springer and it is looking good for his age.
It certain doesn't take them long to zonk out.
