Hi Mate...Originally it was vinyl but there are a variation of heat resistant mattings available now...There are ones which are self adhesive but if you go for one that isn't then i found this to be a good glue..You will need a spreader as the whole tin will get used..Cheers...Ziga

I used something like this on Delilah.

For this one i had to remove the bonnet...Make sure you get one that needs a little trim to fit rather than two pieces...

I currently have nothing under the hood at all. I was under the assumption that without it in the long term the bonnet and paint may craze?

Aluminium foil tape..Its what i have on mine at the moment..You can get it in Wickes..You have to make sure that the underside of the bonnet is non-greasy and free from any old glue..It doesn't provide much insulation but it does reflect the heat..Ziga

Or there is this place...

Be careful with nothing on the underside of the bonnet, if rain falls it heats up on the bonnet and leaves loads of white circular stains. Dunno if this just happens on my wedge or just red ones but they are a swine to polish out.
