parking car on grass / gravel bad?

I keep my fun cars parked off the road up the side of my gaff on grass, this will eventually be gravel when i get round to it

People tell me that parking on grass is bad for the underside of my car as it will speed up rusting (they stand there for a couple of weeks then get a couple of hours usage)

Is this true, will gravel be similar?

I could see that grass could possibly keep the area under a car damp but gravel, no chance. Its stone, and drains well.

I have heard of hot cats setting grass on fire in the summer.... I'd have thought it would be unlikely to be high enough to reach the underside of a car.

OP should presumably get some cool dogs to help prevent this being an issue?

A friend bought a completely restored Beetle that had sat in grass since restoration and it had rotted quite badly again. Such a shame as it was a lovely car but needed floors and wings sorting again.

Gravel is fine.

Put some ant powder around the wheels - I once left my E28 BMW on grass for a few months and ants made a nest between the bulhead and bulkhead insulation. It was disgusting millions of them and hundreds came out the vents etc.. Had to jetwash them out of the plenum chamber.

Long term don't do it. Grass/soil is constantly damp and evaporating moisture. Bad idea.
