Oil temp gauge
Discussion
I`m ordering my oil temp gauge tomorrow ,got a reply from Caerbont today .
The Gauge part number is EOT1-1452-25A @ £36.20
The temp. sender is TT3005-8N (with 1/8NPT thread) @ £10.85
The bulb is supplied as part of the gauge.
Anyone interested ?

Clock is going to be removed and this will be fitted in it`s place
I`m in the process of trying to get a welded boss in the new baffled sump

Mulfab will fit a boss in the sump for you. They just need to know the spec.
Will the sump give you the true temperature ? Is it cooler down there ? Should I just call Mulfab and ask them to fit the boss ?been told the size is 1/8NPT thread) does that sound right ? or are you better having a larger boss then fitting a reducer?

As I've tried to highlight (too many times) the sensor in the sump is pretty much a waste of time, unless you just want to impress folks with the number of gauges you have...
I still think it makes far more sense to move the pressure sensor to the bung in the side of timing cover (where Gary has fitted his temp sensor) and fit the temp sensor underneath in place of the pressure sensor (keeping the relatively expensive pressure sensor away from the road crap / exhaust heat etc..).
This all goes out of the window if you are sensible & use water oil cooling, which seems expansive but by the time you start buying sandwich plates, stats, pipes , cooler , brackets doesn't work out any more expensive and has the added benefits of warming the oil.
That's from my thread a few days ago. Email Spend to clarify his answer. He clearly wants you to have the pressure sensor not in the sump, but I am not sure where he wants the temp sensor.

I believe a good place recommended by Spend iirc for the pressure pick up is to use the oil light switch aperture in the side of the timing cover. Use a a Tee piece there so you can still use the oil light switch.
Remove the old TVR oil pressure sender from the bottom of the timing cover and fit the temp sensor there.
Had my SPA dual gauge delivered yesterday so that's on the to do list for the next week!

Can you post the size of the tee for the oil pressure sender and oil pressure switch and the size of the fit the temp gauge then I can get a reducer to 1/8npt .Remove the old TVR oil pressure sender from the bottom of the timing cover and fit the temp sensor there.

I`ve had a look where oil pressure switch is positioned ,it looks a bit tight up there .
