As per the title I'm looking at perhaps buying an Ultima and there seems to be a fair range of prices. I quite like the metallic red car near Cheltenham at £30k but know its been for sale for quite some time so wonder why it's still there? Poor spec?

Having viewed that car recently it's a case of photos being very deceptive. You need to make up your own mind but it's not in good condition - the paintwork is poor, the front clam doesn't fit properly, the car has/is being stored in a damp atmosphere so there is a lot of surface corrosion on all the alloy parts, (wheels, engine parts, braided hoses etc), and the electrics look a mess. I viewed the car at garage that was sorting out the carburetor and the dealer said it hadn't been valeted - an understatement. I viewed the car on my own so had a real good look at it and walked away - the most difficult part was getting in and out of it as the drivers door ram is either broken or missing which meant it was a real challenge trying to hold the door open whilst doing the usual contortions.

That's excellent info thanks. A bit surprised as it looks mint in the pictures but clearly that's deceptive. I'm going to have a look at the Gardener Douglas Moda and that's not far away so will call in and have a look perhaps. In the meantime ill keep looking and see what comes up. What are the Ultimas like to drive in terms of comfort if say I fancied a trip to Spa for a track day?

Seats could do with a little more padding for a long trip but otherwise they are fine.

Funny you should say that, something else I've been thinking of improving, not that it's that bad, just I'm feeling older all of a sudden. biggrin

Not sure what your budget is, but if you were going to look at a £30k Ultima, the price of a GD Moda could be quite eye watering in comparison .

Yes no doubt but my budget would grow if needed and that was what I wanted. I thought £30k as that seemed CaAm price.
