Longest Shortcuts

I was at a trade show at the Olympia today. On the way there I took the bus from Earls Court to the Olympia. Took ages and mostly stop start traffic.

After the show and beers I thought it would only be a quick walk back. Took a few cheeky side streets and got to Earls Court 45 mins later...not as quick as I thought!

Now on the way home much later than I expected.

What hilarious short cuts have you taken in good faith that have turned out to be a ball ache?
