Finally got my car back after 5 months parked up in my mates garage while we moved house.

Anyway, now its back, its time to catch up on a few jobs.

First up I'm fitting an Odyssey 925 battery and battery brain, in the footwell, mainly for easier access and for tidying up the wiring for the coilpacks and wideband sensor. I've seen a few threads with the battery re-located in the boot, but none in the footwell. anyone done this, if so any recommendations for a suitable battery box or tray. At the moment i'm contemplating modifying the existing battery box, and locating the battery vertically with the ECU mounted behind.

Also need to re-wire the grounds from the Wideband Lambda, which are currently connected to the chassis rail at the same point as the battery ground. The sensor gives a significantly richer reading then the dyno sensor gave when i was getting the car mapped. I believe the two grounds should be rewired to the same location as the ECU grounds on the back of the engine block. This looks like a PITA to get to so wondered if there was an alternative grounding point on the block, or If its safe to splice into one of the ECU grounds. Really need to get this done for the MOT as my previous MOT map is no use now I've changed to bigger injectors.

A few other jobs as well:

Fit ACT cherry bomb exhaust and decatted manifolds.
Fit Tachofix module to fix rev counter
fix handbrake
New seat belts

Don't latch into your ECU grounds (this is how you get voltage offsets) your WB grounds need to go to the block directly nerd its really no big deal getting cables from the interior to the under-bonnet area confused just fiddly, it also pays to have a few grounds from the engine to the chassis even gearbox to chassis and make double sure that the battery ground to chassis connection is clean and secure (even if the car does crank fine) you can never have enough grounds laugh

I have no problem Getting the the Grounds into the Engine bay, its just the location of the earth connection on the back of the engine block where the ECU gounds are connected that I can't Get to. Coil packs located behinfd the plenum don't help.

There are a couple of possoble connection points near the fuel rail bolting points that I was consdiering as an alternative.

I shall use something like this when I replace my battery in the footwell. Can be permanently fixed in place...no more grovelling under the car to change the battery.
