PH Friday Service at Le Mans

It's not far away now! LM Classic spaces still available also

We're back! PistonHeads will once more open the rusty gate to the Parking du Fresne field to host another Le Mans 24hr Friday Service. C'est un champ, avec des hamburgers, des bières et des voitures. Que devez-vous? Nous allons meme etre sur la porte pour dire bonjour. La chance vous.

Taking place on Friday June 13, attractions include (but are not limited to) a superb bar, a barbecue serving genuinely excellent food, a field and French sunshine (we hope, surely this is our year) as well as a few hundred Le Mans going PHers. We'll open the gate at 12:00 and will close at 17:00. The Le Mans Friday Service is an informal affair and all you have to do is arrive, park and relax for as long as you want to stay - easy as that. Eh simple, nous celebrons le domaine et profiter de la hamburger. Mange tout Rodders. The most important thing is nous vous recommandons d'éviter la saucisse rouge.

The grass has been kindly provided by Le Mans organisers the ACO and we would like to repay their kindness by returning their field in good condition at the end of the day. All we ask is you pop your litter in the bin and don't drive like an idiot on the hallowed ACO grass.

Camping spaces are selling very quickly for both the 24 and Classic and we have very limited spaces for the 24 left in Expo and Beausejour so head over to 1st Tickets to secure your place.

If you fancy driving along to the Friday Service sign up on the calendar so we know how many people are planning to come along, we'll cap numbers at 600 for now but will see if more space can be allocated as we get closer to the event (it all depends how dry the field is nearer the time). If you are camping nearby and plan to walk that's fine, pedestrians do not need to sign up.

We really hope to see plenty of Le Mans-based PHers there, and as you arrive say hello to us as the PH team will be manning the gate and parking you in line.

Sign up here for the 24 Friday Service.

Camping spaces are also selling very fast for the Le Mans Classic, go to 1st Tickets to book if you haven’t already.

We also have a fantastic Friday service for our Classic attendees. We are once again returning to Le Bounty, we have 250 spaces especially for PHers and the Friday service will run from 12:00 until 17:00 on Friday July 4 to prepare you for the race weekend. The format will be the same as a normal Sunday Service, refreshments will be available to purchase and include:

Steak & Guinness pie, new potatoes, peas, carrots and gravy.

Cheeseburger, chips, side salad.

Ham salad

Tuna Salad

There will also be bars serving London Pride, draft 1664, wine, soft drinks and cider so there should be something for everyone.

We’ve been told that sat-navs aren't much help in this area, so make sure you make a note of these directions and pass them to your co-driver:

Head south on the road to Tours from Mulsanne, cross the first roundabout, and then about 1/2 mile later turn left where there is a small industrial area on the left, then first left into the lakes (although you should stop before you hit the water).

Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, we're informed that this sat-nav address:

La Fuie Garnier,
72220,
Teloche

If you plan to attend the Classic friday Service, please add your name to the calendarhere.

Thanks to John and the team at Le Bounty for having us. We look forward to seeing you there! We'll keep you updated with more information closer to the time but in the meantime, get yourself on the calendar for the relevant event.

Vive La PistonHeads.

Signed up, how far is it from the PH campsite, worth driving or is it walkable?

Also my first Le Mans. I'm staying at Porsche Curves so I'm sure I can manage the long walk there hehe

I'm walking from Arnage this year where I'm staying as I rocked up in my wife's 320d touring last year which I'm also taking this year and if I've ever been more embarrassed I can't think when? I should have known as it wasn't my first Friday service at Lemans, great fun anyway...

It is about 1.5 miles on foot.

-here used to be some irrelevant and out of date information-

Which, to be fair, the French Police have stopped the last two years. Very easy to drive through last year.

Good to know that! Haven't been there or thereabouts with the car for a few years avoiding it!

Thanks. I wasn't overly keen on driving around the circuit/campsites based on the antics (and traffic) I saw last time I was there.

Mad Friday was epic last year, not too much sign of the police.

The burgers were really good last year, the cars and the beer were pretty good too and we managed to avoid Mad Friday thankfully (as I had the roof down)

I think someone earlier said 1.5 miles, so probably closer to a 30 minute walk if he's correct.

So apologies for possibly what is a silly question...

I'm driving to Le Mans for the Friday Service on Friday morning and then travelling to Geneva after the FS has finished. My question is whether I need a ticket for Le Mans to enter the FS?

Again, apologies if it's a completely ridiculous question however the last thing I want is to arrive and then be asked politely to go away as I don't have a ticket.

Thanks,
Sam.

No.
The parking is outside of the circuit and accessible from the public road.
