Jaguar XJR-s 6.0 - with respray videos.
Discussion
I realised while I was browsing through everyone's rides I haven't posted any of mine up.
This is my 1990 XJR-s 6.0l - they're a limited run of cars which were initially produced by TWR, then by the 90s by Jaguarsport, which was 50/50 Jag and TWR. The engine, suspension, bodywork and interior were all breathed on, resulting in a sportier version of the XJS that sits between the wafty bargeness of the standard car and the balls out animalism of a Lister XJS.
I've owned mine for around 4 years, I had a 5.3 one before this which was bought unseen as a project, but was much too far gone for me to do anything with - it was sold to someone with more knowhow, and I bought this one instead.
Since I've had it I've had the timing chain tensioner replaced (a monster of a job), the gearbox mount replaced, a new spring (one was snapped), and various other jobs while the front end was off the car for the tensioner (hoses, thermostats etc).
The paintwork was getting scruffy, so it had a full respray over the summer to get it ready for my wedding in August. I've made a series of videos showing before, during and after the respray if anyone is interested - you'll find them here: http://www.youtube.com/user/fizmo100/videos
Needless to say what started as a respray on a solid car turned into an excercise in chasing rust and bodged body repairs out of the sills and wheel arches (and doubled the price).
Latest updates are that I've had the first muffler removed from the exhaust to give a bit more rumble, and some twonk has backed their car into the side of it so I need a new door. The less said about that the better!
Here's the old girl in all her post-respray/pre-crash glory! Apologies for the crappy iPhone pic!
