Turin to Nice

Has anyone done a Turin to Nice drive before, the Mrs saw Monaco GP offer on wowcher (vouchers) and booked it!!! £259 each, that's 2 nights in hotel, practise and GP!! We decided to save a few quid (this trip is gonna hurt) and fly to Turin and pick up a car and do the below route to our hotel, any reconmendations???

Looks OK to me - we came right around the Flower Coast on the way back from the Mille Miglia last year, then turned inland just before Nice to follow the Route Napoleon northwards. Turin to Nice should be fine.

Enjoy, but watch for the weapons-grade potholes on the Italian roads; they're truly dangerous!

Yeah a few people have obviously piped up about the driving but I'm non too fussed, had the pleasure of driving in Taiwan which is an experience. The pothole stuff does surprise me though?! Have hired a Alfa with a bit grunt to keep up with traffic

Overkill. The quickest thing on Italian roads is a Fiat Panda driven by a housewife with a screaming kid in a child-seat in the back.

Will you have time to visit the Italian national motor museum in Turin ?

And don't do all motorway if the time permits. There's plenty of nice mountain roads crossing the border.....
I'll just leave here a name.....Col de Turini....

I'd imagine that throughout the 128 years (or so) of motoring, at least one person must have done Turin to Nice

If you want a nice drive I'd advise to drive from Turin to Cuneo then to the Col de Tende down to Sospel and Menton.

Motorway speeds in Northern Italy are pretty similar to Autobahn speeds.
