This may have been posted before, if so I apologise;

When insurance purchased, ticked "work car park" as where the car would be during the day. A sewer has collapsed this week meaning that the car park has about 40 spaces unusable, meaning that a lot of people have had to park on the road outside. I've been in early enough to grab a place so far, but if I did park on the road and someone hit the car (or broke into it, etc), would I still be covered given that I had no way of parking off-road?

Yeah as its only temporary. No insurance company will be able to wriggle out of that one.

I believe the phrase is a variant of "where is the car normally parked during the day" not "where is the car parked every day". In your position and in the event of a claim I'd say the situation was abnormal. If you parked in the work car park for 10 days a year and on the road for another 240 days a year, you'd have a problem.

What would you do if you had a day off and had a day out? wink

If you're concerned, why not just phone the insurer and tell them? That's what I did when there was building work going on and I couldn't use the garage for a couple of months.
