Longest Uninterrupted Run on Cruise Control?

I've only managed about ten miles or so before I have to brake or disengage the cruise control for some reason. Has anyone here managed a seriously long stretch of driving only having to steer?

Think I managed from J15 to J31 on the M6 north on cruise. Helped that traffic was light and I was just at the right speed to get past the truckers but not fast enough to be quickly bearing down on lazy L3 overtakers

I've managed about 75-80 miles or so heading from South Wales along the M4.

Did it quite quickly too

approx 130 miles on I80 Angola Indiana to Cleveland Ohio,

Probably about 80-90ish I guess.

Assuming you are allowed to use the speed control buttons to adjust.

In Northern Finland you can go as far as you like really, mine is probably the 300 miles from Tornio to Kilpisjärvi without doing more than adjusting the speed with the CC.

I suppose someone in Australia or US will win this one though

In France 40-45 mins - it did help that it was through the night and on a weekend.

In the UK 30-35 mins on the M6 - again at night and north of Kendal.

I did the entire length of the E90 in Greece (about 700km) in one go without having to change speed. Sadly it was in a car without cruise control.

Pretty much this. J8 of the M74 down to the start of the M6 toll. Bloody boring, especially as it was dark and nothing to keep you alert outside the headlights.

I recently did a good 70 mile or so stretch of the M4 in the middle of the night without disabling it. Boring.

About 200 miles, on a toll road motorway from Albufeira to Lisbon.

We saw a total of 3 cars in the whole journey! Two of which i overtook, one was some 4 door AMG thing that blasted past doing probably more then double the speed limit.

Think this has been one of my most boring drives ever.

I once did approx 40 miles from Kent to Gatwick on an early morning flight, and discussed it in the pub at the weekend with a mate. He said we would need to have a challenge, and see who could do the best.

The following week he did 250+ miles from Kent to Cornwall. Competition was over - I never got close!

Joining the A1 at Newcastle all the way to leaving the Aston Express Way in Birmingham at 3.00am start time.

Didn't exceed 80 and didn'd drop below 50. Just used the buttons on the wheel to make adjustments.

last night I went from East Acton back to Leamington and on the M40 I did 70 miles at 70MPH without touching the peddles, only seeing the occasional car or lorry I did leave at 12 at night to be fair

First time the car has shown over 28MPG since I bought it

Then continued from Tolls Swansea but used the cruise to slow to around 50 ish through Port Talbot.

That speed camera only faces eastbound if I recall, I only had to alter the cruise speed about twice in the 260 miles from Brighton to Gower in the middle of the night last week, keeping it on through the bends past Cardiff was the only way of extracting fun out of that journey.

I've also found that if you set the speed to an arbitrary number (like *3 for example) you don't find yourself alongside another cruiser for 25 minutes who's set theirs to 70/80/90. Using cruise control you become acutely aware of just how inconsistent people's speed is, they overtake you with a good 10mph closing speed then 2 minutes later you're overtaking them while they dawdle along in the middle lane, strange.
