Foreign journalists, do they ever

I've seen several car reviews from UK journalists that love a car on test at the launch in some sunny country but when they drive it again on UK roads they complain about the suspension been to hard for our pot hole ridden roads. Most recent was Harris and the 4C.

So as it's a slow day today I got wondering do foreign journos come to a car launch in the UK, love the handling of a car but then when they test in their home country complain its too soft?

Probably not. Few cars are designed for British roads, many more are designed for Billiard table smooth Autovias and Autobahns. Plus, this is a pretty miserable country for a press launch.

If you were a marketing department, would you bank on a rare sunny day in Northumberland, the Lake District or Scotland, or would you take the safe option of the south of France or Spain?

In a word: No.

I also find quite amusing the idea that UK roads are worse than the rest of Europe, if anything, in most cases the contrary is true.... they are only wetter!
