Ignis vs R32 and 911 Turbo
Discussion
I was just having a quick look around on the PH forum and thought I'd post a recent video while I'm here. It's a video from my trackday at Oulton Park last week, where I was having a little blast in my Suzuki Ignis Sport.

I'm not trying to prove anything, other than that a 1.5 Suzuki can be a fun little car on track!

looks like fun, makes me miss mine. reminded me how lame the horn sounds
i considered getting another to use as a track car but ended up getting a mk1 eunos instead.
what have you done to yours? i had a standard one then got one with gas coilovers. the coilovers were too harsh for road use but i imagine they would have made track days more enjoyable.

I'm on my second Ignis now after owning newer and 'better' cars. There's just something about the Ignis that makes it such a fun car, and super cheap too. My last Ignis had gas coilovers, this one is standard bar some Rota Grids.

looks like it goes well on standard suspension then. what tyres are you using? they are great cars for the money.
i recognise your black one from the isoc forum.
this was my first one

which unfortunately ended up like this

then i bought the yellow one with gas coilovers and a few other bits which i eventually traded in for a Megane R26

Thanks dude, what were you in?
I was in the GT86 second time on track with it, need to get a bit more confident in the corners with it
I have a plan on that……Great day, love that track and the back end of the day when it quietened down was so good, I covered 190 miles!!
Yes Ryan, I remember your yellow one on the forum too... Was your username 'goingdownhill' or something like that? Actually it may have been the same Suzuki coilovers I had on mine as I bought them off the forum. I'm running Toyo T1-R's which, to be honest aren't really up to trackdays as they get a little too soft. I'll be getting specific track tyres next time, and I've got some more coilovers ready to go on.
I remember the Bora and GT86 (very nice!) and I'm pretty sure you're both on my YouTube videos from the day. I've done Oulton quite a few times now and my car is cheap, so I'm happy to push hard without worrying about consequences too much!

Thanks, Yes I watched the video and saw us both
I need some confidence to push on I am not 100% sure yet were the traction edge is, I've a CAT training day at Millbrook coming up so hoping to find some more limits there and another go at Blyton or Bedford is on the cards where this is a little more run off than Oulton

Indeed, Bedford is ideal for testing the cars limits as you say there's very little to run into. Anglesey is on my to-do list as I need to try out somewhere different instead of booking the same venues all the time!

Actually I was just looking at Anglesey as that too is on my 2014 track day to do list
be later in the year for that though but one I want to do.Enjoyed the video, always fancied an ignis, but missed out. I guess my panda 100hp sort of covers that itch!
I don't like toyo T1r's and I think your video shows why. I always felt they were "mushy" with no real edge. Are the tyres a common size so you have lots of options?
Not that you need any real tips, but one thing that changed my driving and made me more consistent was hand placement.. My hands used to slide around the wheel and spend time near the gearstick. That's not necessarily the best thing on track, and nearly learnt the hard way!

The reason I'm running T1-R's is I didn't initially intend on tracking the car, but I just can't help myself lol. I agree with your comments about the tyres, they are indeed too soft for hard driving.
I used to drive 10 to 2 all the time, but in the Ignis I seem to drive more relaxed. Probably because there's so much lock and such a big wheel lol.
